Daeyang Luke Hospital Plans to Expand its Services

Tertiary health care involves advanced and complex diagnostics, procedures, and treatments performed by medical specialists in state-of-the-art facilities.  Despite Malawi, having three hospitals providing advanced care but the country over the years has been heavily affected by adequate advance medical equipment. 

On Thursday, December 23, 2021, Daeyang Luke Hospital submitted an expression of interest to the government in its desire of expanding its facility to a tertiary hospital.  This came as a result that the founders saw the need for specialized care that Malawi as the country is lacking.

Speaking during the event the Honorable Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda commended Daeyang Luke Hospital for its passion for supporting Malawians. She said, “The services that Daeyang Luke Hospital offers to Malawians are amazing.   My Ministry will provide all the necessary support and make sure that the dream is realized. As a government, we are really impressed with the attitude of health care workers in CHAM facilities the way they conduct themselves and Daeyang being one of them”.

Minister also commend CHAM for complimenting the effort of the government as the government is planning to increase the services being offered under the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Daeyang Luke Hospital is a facility under the management of the Korean Mission.

The government assured Daeyang that will endorse the plans submitted because the facility will benefit Malawi at large.  In addition, the government expressed satisfaction that Daeyang will continue to provide essential services.   The Ministry of Health was optimistic that the state-of-the-art infrastructure that Daeyang is planning to build would improve the services in the country.  The facility will benefit Malawians and the government by providing all the necessary support. 

The CHAM Executive Director, Happy Makala, expressed consummation with the plans that Daeyang Hospital put in place.  He said that CHAM would continue to provide technical support and make sure that the plans are materials.  As a CHAM facility, the Executive Director acknowledges the specialized services that the facility will be offering.
