FROM CLEANER TO CLINICIAN: THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF MEMORY BOKOSI AT EKWENDENI COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE UNDER CHRISTIAN HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF MALAWI (CHAM)

At Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences, we believe that every individual holds untapped potential. Today, we are thrilled to share an inspiring story of determination, opportunity, and the transformative power of investing in people. Four years ago, Memory Bokosi applied for a position as a Cleaner at our college. Her exceptional performance during the application process earned her the role. However, during a routine review of her credentials, our management team noticed something extraordinary Memory held an outstanding MSCE certificate. We saw a future clinician, not just a dedicated employee. Driven by our commitment to corporate social responsibility and the empowerment of women in our community, we approached her with a life-changing proposition to enroll in one of our programmes. After seeking and receiving the blessing of her husband and parents, Memory embarked on a new path. Today, we could not be prouder. We received a message from her, brimming with joy "Madam, I have passed the Clinical Medicine certifying examinations and now I will be going for my internship." Her gratitude is immense. She extends her deepest thanks to the entire management, academic, and corporate staff for the kindness and support shown to her. In her own words "The application that I made to the college was to be a Cleaner, and look at what God has done. Ndinali ndani ine opanda inu. May God continue to bless you and all management team." Memory's story is a powerful reminder that we are all here to serve others and to uplift one another. Her journey from cleaner to clinician is a testament to what can be achieved when an institution looks beyond a job title and sees a person's God-given potential. Congratulations, Memory GO! and serve the nation with the same excellence you have always shown. Remember to be a blessing to the next person, just as others were to you. May God continue to be with you. This is just the beginning. The best is yet to come.
